Beron makes a belated apology

Beron touches their hand to their heart. BERON: "I know. And I am so sorry." Azrael stares at them, shocked once again. Transition to Beron's memories, tinged red. BERON: "You know... that day that you both passed through here on your quest for the Elixir of Life, I sensed such deep confusion in him. So much hate. I knew he would destroy himself. I only hoped your kindness would not be collateral. But I did not interfere, because unlike the other Guardians, I have so little power. I was a coward." Beron remembers watching Ora and Nikita walking towards the portal to Sector Two between the two trees. Nikita pauses to look back at Beron with a mixed expression. Ora looks back at Nikita, his face torn with regret and worry.
