AKIVA: "The Elixir couldn't kill Bahram." RIO: "He's consumed too many souls to have been fully cleansed by the Elixir. And it couldn't un-corrupt him. We knew that would be a possibility. But it's not the end of the world to have a change of plans." Rio gives a hopeful smile. A tear drips down Akiva's cheek, her voice shaking. AKIVA: "Then why do I feel like it is?" She runs her hands through her hair, the green in her right eye slowly spreading. AKIVA: "Why do I feel like I failed? I know I still did the right thing, but I still feel like it wasn't good enough. I feel like I did everything wrong. Even though I couldn't have done it perfectly, I still... I still..." Rio's smile fades into deep worry. Outside the window, snow falls harder.
