Enter: REMY! The Best Boy, to the rescue.
Comic transcript
Akiva closes the door and looks to the driver, REMY, a middle-eastern/south Asian boy with studious dark hair and big, half-rim glasses. AKIVA: "You got a new haircut. It's just the right level of douchey for you." REMY: "Long time no see, asshole." AKIVA: "And your voice is deeper." REMY: "The wonders of taking T for a year. It's a lot deeper isn't it?" AKIVA: "Anything is deeper compared to the squeaky pipes you had in high school. But yes, you sound like a lumberjack." Various charms are hung from the rearview mirror, including a chain of evil eye beads. Akiva rolls around an empty plastic water bottle on the floor with her foot. AKIVA: "My face isn't showing it, but I'm genuinely happy for you." REMY: "It's cool. I don't expect you to be all smiles after a rendezvous with the CPD. It's good to see you though." AKIVA: "Same. Thanks for coming through. I had literally no one else to call." She rests her chin in her hand, elbow on the door. She crushes the bottle under her shoe with a loud crack. Remy watches it uncomfortably. AKIVA: "I just need a couch for a while."
